As with any treasured piece of art from old times, vintage posters which have been stored in poster frames might be worth something, and there is a considerable world of collectors filled with people who will certainly purchase old posters that are still in excellent condition. Pricing old posters can be difficult, however. There are plenty of things that help determine it, and just because a poster is from a past era doesn't mean that it is valuable. Condition of the poster: To be worth anything at all, vintage posters need to be in perfect condition -- that is, no scrapes, fading, wrinkles, or scratches. If you think that your classic posters could be worth money, the very first thing you should think about doing is to put them in poster frames. Purchase some strong plastic poster casings that offer UV protection and which will not break in case the picture falls.
Demand: Like every commodity, the number one thing that goes into the value of vintage posters is the quantity of demand. Even when your classic poster is in splendid condition, it probably won't be worth any money if no one wants to buy it. And regrettably, just because you have an appreciation for your poster doesn't mean that other people will. If you get any that fit this description, these ones are very good candidates for you to put in frames and hang on your wall. Perhaps they will still climb in worth at some point. If they do not, they will at least look fantastic on your walls.
Number: Classic posters also rise and fall in price according to the number of them in existence. For example, in the event that there are only 10 copies on earth of a certain poster, it may be worth five-hundred dollars. On the flip side, if there are 7,000 copies, you will be lucky if the price cracks $100. This is not always the situation, but it is a good rule of thumb to take into consideration.
Era: Once again, this is not an unbreakable rule, but in general, the older a poster is, the larger its value will be. Particularly regarding posters that were maintained in poster frames in dim locations ever since immediately after they were created, they may be almost as valuable as many classic works of fine art. At the same time, there are numerous newer posters that may be worth high rates. For example, if you own any posters that were created during the first runs of cult films made in the past couple of decades, they could be worth some money.
